The history of HAMOTEC
Paul Heinrich Koller and Hans Heinrich Waibel laid the foundations for today’s company some 57 years ago with the development of the VS57. After taking over his father’s business and 20 years of industry experience, Hanspeter Waibel and Franco Gandini set up HAMOTEC AG on 11 February 2003.
Hamotec started up in a 66-square metre garage on Sägestrasse in Dielsdorf in 2003. Soon the company grew to over twenty employees and had almost twenty times the floor space on Ruchwiesenstrasse in Dielsdorf, HAMOTEC’s headquarters since 2006.
Steady, sustainable growth:
This came about because the two-strong management team of Hanspeter Waibel and Franco Gandini saw themselves as “Jacks of all trades”, particularly in the early years. They therefore understand every aspect of the curtain-profile business and have a pronounced down-to-earth approach, which has always accompanied all growth steps. Our vision provides us with our direction and goal. It confirms our desire to be one of the market leaders in everything we do. It represents the foundations for a company with shared values. Our vision and values guide us in all decisions we make in our everyday working lives. They are stand-alone and fit HAMOTEC as they are what sets our corporate culture apart.

2016Expansion of sales offices in Europe and expansion of the product range
2015Hamotec expanded its premises with a 440-square metre office and attended the following trade fairs:
- Carpentry Fair 2015 in Bassersdorf on 19-21 March 2015
- Menuisier Fair 2015 in Lausanne on 26-27 March 2015
2014Attendance at the following exhibitions:
- Bauen & Wohnen in Wettingen on 3-6 April 2014
- Industry Fair in Dielsdorf on 25-28 September 2014
2013Expansion of sales offices; curtain-profile range on the Austrian market supplied by LEHA GmbH in Breitenaich (Austria)
2012We included well-known brand-name curtains and curtain fittings into the range. Casa Valentina and Cavagna are our partners.
2010Hamotec expanded the business with offices, a warehouse and workshop, and integrated the showroom in three different buildings covering 1,000 square metres.
2008The sale, including an installation and sewing service, of different brand-name curtain products for indoors and outdoors began with the slogan “alles aus einer Hand” (literally “one-stop shop”).
2007We expanded our range by adding another key element to our comprehensive product range for interior sun shading and insect protection.
2006The company expanded by moving to modern buildings on Ruchwiesenstrasse in Dielsdorf.
2003Hamotec AG replaced Waibel Decosysteme AG, and as a successor company we cover trade retail and wholesale, as well as offering solutions for new buildings and renovations.
