Data protection

The topic of data protection is very important to us.
At this point you will find valuable information on your personal data protection.

What is automatically stored by our hoster
Hosting operator and data storage location: cyon GmbH, Brunngässlein 12, 4052 Basel, Switzerland
The provider of the pages automatically collects and stores information in so-called server log files, which your browser automatically transmits to us. The access data includes:

  • Name of the website accessed
  • Date and time of access
  • Amount of data transferred
  • Message about successful retrieval
  • Browser type and version, the user's operating system
  • Referrer URL (the URL referring to our website, e.g. Google search)
  • IP address and the requesting provider

The provider uses the log data only for statistical evaluations for the purpose of operation, security and optimisation of the website. However, the provider reserves the right to check the log data retrospectively if there is a justified suspicion of illegal use based on concrete evidence.
You can find all further information on this here:
https://www.cyon.ch/legal/datenschutzerklaerung

How we handle personal data
Personal data is information that can be used to identify a person, i.e. information that can be traced back to a person. This includes the name, email address or telephone number. But data about preferences, hobbies, memberships or which websites have been viewed by someone also count as personal data. Personal data is only collected, used and passed on by the provider if this is permitted by law or if the users consent to the data collection.

How we protect your personal data
We have taken technical and organisational security measures to protect your personal data from loss, destruction, manipulation and unauthorised access. Our security measures are continuously revised and optimised in line with technological developments.

When you use a service on our website, your personal data is transmitted to us. To prevent this data from falling into the wrong hands, we encrypt it using the SSL (Secure Socket Layer) method. The SSL method is currently the most common and secure data transmission method on the internet.

How the SSL process works
The SSL (Secure Socket Layer) process is used to protect data that a customer sends to a company's server via the Internet. SSL provides triple protection:
  • Your data to be transmitted is encrypted
  • It is ensured that the form is only sent back to the server from which it was opened.
  • A check is carried out to ensure that the data reaches its respective recipient complete and unchanged.

SSL is always used when you see a small (usually green) lock in the bottom left-hand corner of your browser's status bar.

What we store when you contact us
When you contact us via our contact form, the user's details are stored for the purpose of processing the enquiry and in the event that follow-up questions arise. We do not pass on this data without your consent. The contact requests are automatically deleted from the CMS after 1 year.
The data is stored on the same hosting storage as mentioned above under point "What is automatically stored by our hoster".

Integration of third-party services and content
It may happen that third-party content, such as videos from YouTube, maps from Google Maps, RSS feeds or graphics from other websites are integrated into this online offering. This always presupposes that the providers of this content (hereinafter referred to as "third-party providers") recognise the IP address of the user. This is because without the IP address, they would not be able to send the content to the respective user's browser. The IP address is therefore required to display this content. We endeavour to only use content whose respective providers only use the IP address to deliver the content. However, we have no influence on whether the third-party providers store the IP address, e.g. for statistical purposes. If we are aware of this, we will inform users about it.

Why cookies may be stored on your computer
In order to make your visit to the website attractive and to enable the use of certain functions, the website uses so-called cookies on various pages. These are small text files that are stored on your end device (e.g. mobile phone, tablet, PC). Some of the cookies used are deleted again at the end of the browser session, i.e. after you close your browser (so-called session cookies, e.g. are you logged in?). Other cookies remain on your end device and make it possible to recognise your browser on your next visit (so-called persistent cookies, e.g. the storage of your login data on request). You can set your browser so that you are informed about the setting of cookies and can decide for yourself whether to accept them or generally exclude their acceptance. We would like to point out that the functionality and ease of use may be restricted without cookies. You can find out more here:
https://www.allaboutcookies.org/ge/cookies-verwalten/

Purpose-related data use
We observe the principle of purpose-related data use and only collect, process and store your personal data for the purposes for which you have provided it to us. Your personal data will not be passed on to third parties without your express consent, unless this is necessary for the provision of the service or the fulfilment of the contract. Data will also only be transferred to state institutions and authorities authorised to receive information within the scope of the statutory duty to provide information or if we are obliged to provide information by a court decision.

We also take data protection within the company very seriously. Our employees and the service companies commissioned by us have been obliged by us to maintain confidentiality and to comply with data protection regulations.

Right to information and cancellation
You can obtain information about your data stored by us free of charge at any time without giving reasons. You can block, correct or delete your data collected by us at any time and object to the anonymised or pseudonymised collection and storage of data for the purpose of optimising our website. You can also withdraw your consent to the collection and use of your data at any time without giving reasons. To do so, please contact info@hamotec-ag.ch. We will be happy to answer any further questions you may have about our privacy policy and the processing of your personal data. Please note that data protection regulations and data protection practices, e.g. at Google, can change constantly. It is therefore advisable and necessary to keep up to date with changes to legal provisions and the practices of companies such as Google.

Still have questions or are unsure?
Your trust is important to us. Therefore, we would like to be at your disposal regarding the processing of your personal data. If you have any questions that are not answered in this privacy policy, please contact us by email at info@hamotec-ag.ch

Google Tag Manager

Description of the integration:
We use Google Tag Manager as a tag management system. Website tags
and scripts are centrally controlled and played out via the GTM (e.g. Google Analytics and Matomo). The Tag Manager
is used to manage and deliver the integrated tracking technologies.

Data protection URL for the integration:
https://support.google.com/tagmanager/answer/9323295

What data is collected?
The Google Tag Manager itself does not collect any user-related analysis or tracking data (no
own user profiles; no independent analysis of page views).
However, standard data is collected in HTTP request logs when the Google Tag Manager is loaded.
In addition, Google can process aggregated diagnostic data for triggering tags
(system stability/performance/installation quality); according to Google, this does not contain any IP addresses or individual measurement IDs.

For what purpose is the data collected?
The Google Tag Manager is used to manage and display tags
included on the website (e.g. Google Analytics, Matomo).
The (aggregated) diagnostic data specified by Google is used to monitor, maintain,
security and improve the service.

Location of processing
The Google Tag Manager is provided by Google; data (in particular HTTP request logs) may be processed on Google servers worldwide. Processing outside
Switzerland/EU/EEA (third country transfer, potentially also USA) is possible.

Google Analytics

Description of the integration:
We use Google Analytics 4 to analyse website usage (e.g. page views, interactions,
reach measurement). The integration takes place via the Google Tag Manager (or Google Tag) and
is used for statistical evaluation and optimisation of our online offering.

Data protection URL for the integration:
https://policies.google.com/technologies/partner-sites?hl=ch-DE

What data is collected?

  • Usage/interaction data (e.g. page views, clicks/events, referrers)
  • Online identifiers/IDs (e.g. cookie or device identifiers such as "_ga" for recognition)
  • Device/browser information (e.g. device type, operating system, browser)

The IP address is not saved or logged, but it can be used to derive rough
location data

For what purpose is the data collected?

  • Range measurement & statistics (how visitors use the website)
  • Optimisation of content, user guidance and performance
  • (optional/configuration-dependent) advanced functions such as advertising/attribution measurement,
    if activated

Location of processing

  • Contractual partner for Google Analytics in EMEA is typically Google Ireland Limited
  • EU data flow (GA4): Google describes that GA4 collects data from EU-based devices first
via EU domains/servers; then redirection may occur for further
    processing.

Matomo (self hosted)

Description of the integration:
We use Matomo to statistically analyse the use of our website (web analysis).
Matomo is self-hosted (on-premise), i.e. the analysis software is operated on a server that
we have operated via our hosting provider. Matomo helps us to understand how
visitors use our website in order to improve content, technology and user-friendliness
.

Data protection URL for the integration:
https://matomo.org/privacy-policy/
https://matomo.org/guide/manage-matomo/privacy/
https://matomo.org/faq/general/faq_146/

What data is collected?
In the context of web analysis, Matomo processes the following data in particular:

  • Usage data: pages/URLs accessed, time, dwell time, interactions/events,
download/click events, referrer (page of origin/campaign)
  • Technical data: Browser, operating system, device type (from the user agent),
    Screen resolution and similar
  • IP address: The IP address is technically transmitted in the request. It is only stored by
us in anonymised form, as IP anonymisation is activated
    (masking/anonymisation directly during processing).
  • Cookies: Matomo sets first-party cookies on our website domain (hamotec-ag.ch) in order to
recognise recurring visits and sessions, for example:
    • _pk_id (visitor ID)
    • _pk_ses (session)
    • _pk_ref (attribution/referrer)

For what purpose is the data collected?

  • Range measurement and web analytics (statistical analysis of website usage)
  • Optimisation of content, structure, user guidance and technical performance
  • Error analysis/quality assurance (e.g. to identify technical or content-related weaknesses)

Place of processing
The processing takes place in Switzerland on the Matomo installation operated by us, which is hosted by
the following hosting provider:
GLOBONET GmbH
Toggenburgerstrasse 23
9500 Wil SG
support@globonet.ch

This means that the Matomo analysis data remains on the infrastructure controlled by us (self-hosted)
and is not operated as a Matomo cloud service.
